Restaurants were losing orders to phone-line chaos and margin to delivery-app commissions, with no way to let a customer order ahead without either. AITC designed and built DineQ end-to-end — a multi-tenant dine-in / pickup platform where a kitchen ticket legally cannot exist until the money has cleared.

Challenge

  • Lost phone orders: Phone-in orders got lost, mis-heard, or forgotten during a rush, with the only record being whoever picked up the call.

  • Costly delivery-app commissions: Third-party delivery apps took 20–30% commission just to be discoverable, and told a restaurant nothing about who its own regulars were.

  • No cross-tenant oversight: A platform running many restaurants had no single place to approve a new restaurant, watch payouts, or investigate a disputed refund.

Solution we delivered

Discovery & planning

We mapped how an order actually moved from a phone call or a delivery app to a kitchen ticket, and found the real gap: payment status was a UI checkbox a kitchen could ignore, not a guarantee anyone could trust.

Solution design

We designed a payment-first order state machine where a kitchen ticket cannot exist until a payment provider confirms the charge, wrapped in a multi-tenant platform that lets any number of restaurants — and non-restaurant merchants — run on one deployment.

Checkout re-prices the cart server-side; a kitchen ticket cannot exist until the payment provider confirms PAID.

Realtime dashboards & tracking

Restaurant queues and customer order tracking update live over Server-Sent Events, with no polling.

Multi-tenant isolation

Any number of restaurants run on one deployment, each scoped through a single tenant-role chokepoint.

Kitchen display & 80mm tickets

The kitchen display shows only paid and accepted orders, with print-ready 80mm ticket formatting.

Menu management

Categories, variants, and modifiers with CSV import/export and preview-before-publish.

Platform admin console

Restaurant approvals, commission rates, and cross-tenant oversight behind an 11-permission RBAC model.

Delivery approach

We shipped the payment-first checkout and kitchen display first, then layered in realtime dashboards, menu management, and the platform admin console as more merchant types came onboard.
